1957 Limitation of Liability Convention
A Personal Injury/Loss of Life
Claims
Where the claim gives rise to a personal injury/loss of life claim only,
the limitation is set at 3,100 gold francs for each ton of the ship's
tonnage
B Property Claims
Where the occurrence gives rise to a property claim only, the limitation
is set at 1,000 gold francs for each ton of the ship's tonnage.
C. Personal Injury/Loss of Life
and Property Claims
Where the occurrence gives rise to both personal injury/loss of life
claims and property claims, the limitation is set at 3,100 gold francs.
Of this 2,100 gold francs shall be exclusively appropriated for personal
injury/loss of life claims. The remaining 1,000 gold francs shall be
appropriated to the payment of property claims and personal injury/loss
of life claims to the extent that the initial fund is insufficient.
